BRIDE ENCHANTED available NOW!

Dear Readers,

Huzzah! I have a new book coming out! BRIDE ENCHANTED is a tad different, a pinch paranormal perhaps, but mostly a love story I dearly loved writing. (Romantic Times gave it 4 1/2 stars!)

I hope you'll pick up a copy, enjoy reading it, and that it brings a bit of magic into your days and nights as you do. Please do let me know what you think.

Also, I'm blogging at Romance Vagabonds today. Do come by, now or later!

Best,

Edith

OUT OF THE CLOSET!

Time for Ms. Layton to throw off the disguises. (Well, one at least)

A certain Edith Felber (whose name you can find on the copyright page of every one of Edith Layton's books) has a book coming out from NAL Trade paperbacks at the end of the month.

Queen of Shadows: A Novel of Isabella, Wife of King Edward II

It's not a Romance. Though there is, as in life, Romance in it. There's suspense, plotting, murder most vile, and love that is both tender and profane, It's the story of...well, let's let Romantic Times tell you:

"Felber (AKA Edith Layton) easily moves from Regency romance to historical fiction with this book about Isabella, the wife of Edward II-- a woman as fascinating, complex, and passionate as the era. With a deep understanding of Isabella's motivation, Felber brings humanity to a woman whose actions changed the course of history in a vibrant, colorful, intelligent work of fiction. "

KIRKUS REVIEWS liked it too!

As did PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY!

As will you.

So please give Mz. Felber a chance, and read Queen of Shadows.

You'll have a great time. Mz. Layton promises it. And then let us know what you think.
(both me and Mz. Felber)

PS Be on the look out for edithfelber.com -- coming to a WWW near you -- soon!

NEWS!

I've not posted much here lately. Truth is, I've been writing, posting now and again over at the Wenches, and spending 'way too much time in my garden taking pictures of my water lilly.

I guess I was waiting for BIG NEWS to put here.

Now I've got it! All the details! My son's first novel is coming out on: ta da! August 15th!

SHRODINGER'S BALL
By Adam Felber
Random House Trade Paperbacks
ISBN: 0812974425

Da Book!

I know I said I wouldn't nag you about it, but come on. It's his first book. A real novel. (Look at the copyright line on my books. I too am a Felber.)

Do you know what that makes me feel like? I hope you someday will. S'wonderful.

Adam writes for TV; his latest show will on late night TV, starting on FOX this September. (More about that later.) He's sold movie scripts, and appears on NPR'S WAIT, WAIT, DON'T TELL ME. He's acted and done Improv. But this! His first novel!

I remember his first word. Well, really, his first sentences. He started fast.

I'm so proud.

Of course, he could have been a brain surgeon. His daddy was a physician, and a specialist. Adam could have been one too. But he saw his dad working 8 days a week, 25 hours a day.... with such sad cases, and I guess, it wasn't for Adam. He just couldn't stop thinking of jokes.

(It would not have done to have a doctor give you your diagnosis with some killer one-liners. Especially if it was a killer diagnosis.)

Adam's book is funny and clever and thought provoking and wonderful.

****SHRODINGER'S BALL****
On sale everywhere.

Publishers Weekly said: ..."inspired romp."

Booklist said:... "crackling comic novel..."

Library Journal said... ""delightfully intellectual zaniness at work".... "recommended for
most fiction collections."

And more, and more.

I say: BUY IT!

The book, needless to say, is Great.

Read it.

I mean it: Read it.

Then let me know what you think.

Yours,

Edith

True Confessions!

I've been unfaithful, faithful readers!

I've been blogging over at wordwenches.com as well as here. But I have so many lovely friends there! We have seven authors blogging -- one for everyday of the week! And what a crew: Mary Jo Putney, Patricia Rice, Jo Beverley, Loretta Chase, Sarah Gabriel, Susan Holloway Scott, and me! Please do come visit us!

I confessed - and now I feel much better.

But see, the thing is - there are only so many words any writer can come up with.

News? OK - My daughter Susie and her husband Edward are contributing bigtime to the gene pool and I will be a granny this Autumn.

Oh wow. Words cannot express my joyitude. Well, maybe they can... as you can see, I wrote about it a few days ago right here on the other blog. Ahem.

Plus, my son Adam's first book is coming out in August: "SHRODINGER'S BALL"

(I will not rave and urge you to buy it - read the PW review, the Booklist review, and you'll see why I don't have to do that).

And my FIRST straight historical, "QUEEN OF SHADOWS, a novel of Isabella, wife to Edward ll" - is coming out in November from NAL Trade, under my other name: Edith Felber. Click here to order early and often!

And then my next Avon Historical Romance, "FOR THE LOVE OF A PIRATE" is coming out in December. (For your convenience, it's also just a click away!)

What a busy summer!

More about all of this as it comes in... here, there and everywhere!
